Hannah was born in 1863 in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.1   Hannah's father was William Franks and her mother was Mary Fallons (Franks Midwinter).  She had two brothers and four sisters, named Albert, Harry, Sarah, Caroline, Elizabeth and Rosetta.  She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Levi and Mary.
